In 1999 after spending 5 years as a project manager in the fast-paced creative world of interactive advertising, Bianca Maldonado, owner and president of Scape Events, was looking for that ‘next big project’; when it happened. Her best friend got engaged! Juggling her full-time job and her duties as maid of honor for a lavish wedding for 300 guests, Bianca was swamped and loving it. As the big day approached, so did the Food Network with a proposal to televise her friends upcoming wedding on a show called “Wedding Feasts”. By accepting it instead of simply impressing the guests, she ended up impressing millions of viewers as well with her event planning skills. It wasn’t long after returning to her normal day to day life that she began receiving phone calls from family, friends, and even a few strangers, all looking for help planning their own events.
Taking yet another chance, Bianca made the move into the event planning industry, officially starting in the fall of 2001, Scape Event, LLC, and with it creating a stir as one of Miami’s fastest growing & most creative event boutiques. Today, Bianca and her team do what they absolutely love; planning, designing, organizing and creating the kinds of events that leave people saying, “Wow, now that was an Scape Event!”

ABOUT SCAPE EVENTS
Scape Events is an event planning company established in South Florida, specifically on Brickell Ave in Miami, FL. We specialized in events in the entertainment business. From press junkets for the latest Hollywood Blockbuster to the latest CD release party.
The website Press Release Grader was used to critique the above press release created for Scape Events, LLC. The keywords used in the press release were EVENTS and SCAPE. Those two terms were specifically chosen due to its popularity in regards to web search. When presented to Press Release Grader, the initial score was a 49/100.
The recommendations presented from the site were that the release was missing a valid end of content marker (###), that the link should be somewhere towards the end and also it was missing an “about me” section about the company at the end. After making the necessary changes and submitting it for a second time, the release received a 54/100.
5 Steps To Plan An Event

1. Budget.
Set up the budget for the type of event that you want and get the necessary things to make the event a success without getting out of it. The basics for a celebrity red carpet event would have to include, location, tables and chairs, linen, flower arrangements, wait staff, food, entertainment, among others things depending on the event.
2. Sponsors:
Depending on the event you might find some kind of sponsor for it. It helps the image of the product and the image of the guests attending the event so it’s a win-win situation. The sponsors can be anything from alcohol to be served at the event to products to be given out as “goodies” to the guests.
3. Load In:
The day of the event starts with the load in. This is when the rental companies start setting up for the event. Here you have to deal with the distribution of the tables, the flower arrangements, the lighting of the venue, the set up of the catering, etc. Basically at this point you are just creating the ambiance in the venue to have the event send the message your want it to send and make it a magical occasion for everyone.
4. Entertainment:
Have an early call time to set up of the entertainment, that being a band or a DJ or in some cases both to do a sound check and a run through of the material they will perform at the event. It has to be early in the day to prevent any mishaps that could happen while doing the last run through. Creative people sometimes have big egos and very fragile feelings so any problem with talent being difficult that come across for any reason its better to fix it as soon as possible. The quicker you can fix it the fewer problems they will give you at the time of the event.
5. The food and the booze:
Food and alcohol is always a great way to keep the guests happy and enjoying the event. Always plan ahead to have enough of it for all the attending guests and sometimes a little bit extra. Its better to be safe than sorry because hungry people and no food = disaster. The good thing of having alcohol sponsors is that you can provide an open bar and that always keeps the guest happy.
Week 1 - Case Study

According to www.quantcast.com, the event planning industry is more or less even in its support by both male and females. Their age range is between 18-49 also they are Caucasian without kids. They are educated people with a salary of at least, between $60-$100k per year.
Depending on the type of event is the type of expenses that are going to be taking place. It’s not the same an event at a nightclub for the album release of the latest artist in the label than a listening party at one of the studios in town for the same amount of people. With the purpose of exposing the music of the artist to the right outlets, they both serve the same purpose, they just take place in different scenarios and therefore the needs of the budget will be different. The people responsible on hiring the event companies for this type of events would be the PR people for the company.
I would generally describe my target audience as mid high - high-class individuals who look to event planning as the help needed to make the social statement they want to make to the world.
